For Dean Thomas, real estate investment grew from a curiosity in high school to a passion as he continued his studies while growing up in Quebec. From an early age he enthusiastically followed the progression of raw land from concept, to development, to final completion. An exceedingly successful negotiator, he has brought millions of dollars to the table for land sellers, as well as arranged a lot of high-level financing for developers.
Formally educated at Champlain College in St. Lambert Quebec, Dean completed his DEC in Commerce. Immediately after graduating, he sold commercial strata properties and retail shopping strips for Marzim Developments. In his first year he was placed in charge of the company’s retail portfolio, where he was responsible for close to one million sq. ft. of retail space in major cities across Canada. Within a few years, Dean became an independent commercial broker representing retail and industrial clients throughout Eastern Canada. And after 20 years of brokerage experience, he refined his skill set in Tenant Representation and has since sold 1,000,000+ sq. ft. of industrial space and 750,000+ sq. ft. of retail.
Currently, Dean specializes in working with owners, stratas, and developers to prepare land parcels new developments (high-rises, townhouse sites and shopping malls). His networks run deep into the Lower Mainland development community. Leveraging his 30+ years of experience, Dean is known for his outstanding service and working in his clients’ best interests, even if it means telling them what they don’t want to hear: that a given investment might not be right for their portfolio.
When not completing real estate transactions or providing counsel to clients, Dean can be found spending time working with many different charities. One of the ones closest to his heart is the Vancouver General Hospital Foundation.
